COSTA RICA Las Lajas Coffee (LIGHT Roast)

Meet our latest filter COSTA RICA coffee from the Las Lajas farm, which comes from a semi-washed process, which is an intermediate method between washed and natural processing. Similar to the wet method, the coffee cherries are placed in a special mill and the skin and part (not all, as in the wet method) of the pulp are removed. The rest of the pulp remains on the bean and the coffee is dried in this form. This method gives the coffee a high degree of sweetness and a delicate, perfectly balanced acidity.
 
Our COSTA RICA Las Lajas will embrace you with the sweetness of nougat and the aroma of milk chocolate and Hungarian plum. You will also feel the pleasant acidity of juicy grapefruit, which perfectly complements the sensory profile of this roast.

From the farm to our roastery directly

Las Lajas Washing Station, located in the region of Sabanilla de Alajuela, is a renowned company in the coffee sector in Costa Rica. Francisca and Oscar Chacón, who own the farm, focus on producing high quality speciality coffee using organic and sustainable methods. The Las Lajas farm has become famous for regularly implementing innovative coffee processing methods and for being the only farm in the region to be certified organic.
 
A special machine designed to use as little water as possible is used to remove the pulp from the coffee beans. In general, the farm's water consumption is low because Las Lajas does not process coffee wet. The owners are interested in honey and natural methods. Oscar is an owner who is deeply involved in the life of the farm - he personally supervises each process from beginning to end. He does not always decide at the beginning which processing method will be used for the next crop - his choice is often determined by the current weather conditions, in order to ultimately extract the maximum flavour and aroma from each processed batch.
