KENYA Acacias [Summer Espresso]

It's time to start the SUMMER espresso season! And what will you find in a cup of our summer this time? Incredibly delicious beans straight from Kenya. KENYA Acacias washed is a mega-fruity, acidic coffee that ripens in the full sun on mountain slopes. You will feel the expressive blackcurrant, sweetened with notes of blueberry rounded off with and the pleasant acidity of pomegranate.

The coffee trees are grown at altitudes of up to 1,800 metres above sea level, where the temperature is relatively low and the soil is fertile and rich in minerals, providing excellent conditions for both coffee and tea trees or cereals.

The fruit is harvested by hand and taken to the mill the same day to prevent uncontrolled fermentation. Sorting and processing takes place on site, starting in canals filled with water from a nearby river. The water is used several times before it is deemed unusable to minimise its consumption. Before the beans are finally dried in the sun, they spend a further eight to 16 hours in special containers filled with water. This treatment preserves the quality of the beans for longer and also contributes to the exceptional purity of flavour of the final brew.
