Uganda Zinule Bulambuli

Bulabmuli is a new company operating in eastern Uganda on the border with Kenya in the town of Mbale from 2021. The coffee processed at Bulambula comes from small local producers. It is bought at small coffee markets or brought directly to the company's premises by the producers. In addition to impeccable quality, Bulambuli's sourcing requirements include complete transparency in the production chain and the ability to trace the origin, price and labour involved in growing the coffee. Farms in these areas are typically 1 hectare plantations with up to 1,500 coffee trees. Each one produces about 100-200 grams of green coffee.

 

 

Our coffee has undergone wet processing. After sorting, the beans are stripped of their pulp and then placed in parchment (a membrane that directly surrounds the coffee bean) to ferment in fermentation tanks. The beans are dried in the company's own garden under special tents.

 

Coffee production in Uganda is currently small, but it is undoubtedly an area with great coffee potential. Bulambuli is committed to empowering the local people, paying them a fair wage, improving their living conditions on a regular basis, and believes that their company's production will soon increase significantly.
