It is obtained exclusively from the first and second harvest of fresh leaves of bushes that grow in the shade under special covers, which significantly increases their quality. Thanks to this, the leaves have a higher content of chlorophyll and L-theanine, which makes them acquire an intense green color and beneficial properties.

How is Moya Matcha made and what makes it unique?

Moya Matcha comes from the renowned Uji region, which is known for its ideal conditions for growing tea in Japan. The leaves are carefully hand-picked from the first and second harvests, guaranteeing their exceptional quality. The plants are grown in the shade for several weeks before harvesting, which increases the chlorophyll and L-theanine content, giving the tea an intense green color and a subtle umami flavor. After harvesting, the leaves are dried and ground in traditional stone mills, which preserves their valuable properties, including a wealth of antioxidants and nutrients. Thanks to these careful processes, Moya Matcha not only delights with its taste, but also offers numerous health benefits.

How to prepare matcha?

  • Measure two bamboo teaspoons of matcha (or one regular teaspoon) and pour into the bowl.
  • Add 100 ml of hot water (80 °C).
  • Use a bamboo whisk (chasen) to beat vigorously until a thick, green foam forms.
  • Add more water if you want a milder drink.
  • If you're in the mood for a matcha latte, simply add 200ml of warm, frothed plant milk.
