  • What are the characteristics of cold brew coffee?

Cold brew coffee allows you to prepare an infusion that you can drink cold. Its characteristics mean that more and more people around the world are convinced to drink coffee in this form, as an alternative to the infusion brewed in the traditional way and served warm. It is also a particularly good solution on warmer spring and summer days.

  • What makes it stand out?

Cold brew is coffee "brewed" cold. In practice, it would be more accurate to say that the beans are macerated, because traditional brewing using a higher temperature is not used at any stage. The result is a concentrated drink that is devoid of the characteristic bitterness and high acidity. At the same time, you can still count on its deep aroma and richness of caffeine. Coffee prepared in this way is more gentle on the stomach, so it works perfectly for people who are sensitive in this respect, but still want to enjoy a delicious coffee drink and a solid energy boost. However, many people reach for this product simply because of its taste.

  • Preparation method

First of all, it is worth emphasizing that this type of coffee should not be confused with classic iced coffee, usually prepared with a more traditionally brewed espresso. In the case of cold brew, ground beans are poured with water at room temperature or colder, then put in the fridge and left for at least a few, preferably a dozen or so hours. After this time, simply stir and strain the infusion. Such coffee can even be prepared in a jar or other glass container, and then strained through paper filters or a fine-meshed strainer. A device such as a French press will work perfectly for preparing the drink.

  • Which coffee should I choose for cold brew?

Coffee for cold brew should be prepared from the best beans, because their quality is particularly important in this method. It is also worth reaching for bottled or filtered water, because in the case of cold "brewing" it is not recommended to use ordinary tap water. You will find various proven types of 100% Arabica beans in our store.

  • Our offer

Lightly or medium roasted beans are especially recommended for this type of coffee. Enthusiasts of this drink are very keen to reach for varieties with an intense fruity aroma. It is worth taking an interest in, among others, African varieties, which you will find in our roastery's offer. We have coffees from Kenya, Burundi and Congo. Beans from Mexico or El Salvador will also work very well.

  • How to serve such a drink?

The finished concentrate of such coffee can be stored in the fridge for up to several days, so the rather long process of its production should not be a problem. Such cold coffee is best served with ice cubes, and if you want to dilute it, just add water or milk. In the version with water and ice, a slice of orange or lemon and possibly a fresh mint leaf will be a great addition. In the version with milk, you can try serving the drink sweet, with the addition of ice cream or whipped cream. Cold brew essence is also a great addition to drinks, even those based on rum or liqueurs.
