Moya Matcha Traditional is an intense green tea with a harmonious taste, perfect for both traditional drinking and for preparing matcha lattes, smoothies or cocktails. It comes from the first two harvests of leaves grown in the shade, which increases the content of chlorophyll and l-theanine, influencing its unique taste and properties. The tea is grown in the Uji region in Kyoto Prefecture, famous for its ideal conditions for green tea production. Moya Matcha is delivered to Europe in small batches, which allows it to maintain its freshness and high quality.

How is Moya Matcha made and what makes it unique?

Moya Matcha comes from the Uji region, known as the ideal place for growing tea in Japan. Its leaves are hand-picked during the first and second harvests, which guarantees exceptional quality. Before harvesting, the tea bushes are shaded for several weeks, thanks to which the leaves gain more chlorophyll and l-theanine. It is these processes that give matcha its intense green color and subtle, umami flavor. After harvesting, the leaves are dried and ground in traditional stone mills, which helps to preserve their valuable properties - antioxidants and nutrients. Thanks to this, Moya Matcha is not only an excellent taste, but also a source of health benefits.

How to prepare matcha?

  • Measure two bamboo teaspoons of matcha (or one regular teaspoon) and pour into the bowl.
  • Add 100 ml of hot water (80 °C).
  • Use a bamboo whisk (chasen) to beat vigorously until a thick, green foam forms.
  • Add more water if you want a milder drink.
  • If you're in the mood for a matcha latte, simply add 200ml of warm, frothed plant milk.
