  • Choosing the right coffee for cold brew matters more than many people think. The cold brewing process is unique — and while bean quality is always important, it plays an especially decisive role here. With the right beans, you can discover a completely new side of your favourite drink. Explore our selection of freshly roasted specialty beans, carefully chosen to bring out the best in cold brew.

  • Why is cold brew coffee so popular?

Cold brew is a chilled coffee drink that is capturing the attention of coffee lovers around the world. More and more people are discovering it as a refreshing alternative to traditionally brewed hot coffee — and it's easy to see why. Smooth, naturally sweet, and free from bitterness, it offers a completely different coffee experience.

It's also a perfect choice for warmer spring and summer days when a hot cup is the last thing on your mind.

  • What makes cold brew coffee different?

Cold brew is coffee brewed without heat. To be precise, the beans undergo maceration — at no stage is hot water involved. The result is a smooth, concentrated drink that is naturally free from the bitterness and high acidity associated with traditional brewing methods. At the same time, it retains a deep aroma and a generous caffeine kick.

Cold brew is also gentler on the stomach, making it an excellent choice for those who are sensitive to acidity but still want to enjoy great coffee and a solid energy boost. Many people, however, simply reach for it because of its exceptional taste.

  • How to prepare cold brew

It's worth noting that cold brew is not the same as iced coffee, which is typically made from traditionally brewed espresso poured over ice. Cold brew is a different process entirely — and once you try it, you'll understand why it has such a devoted following.

The preparation is simple, but requires patience. Ground coffee is combined with room temperature or cold water and left to steep in the fridge for 12–16 hours — this is where the magic happens. The standard ratio is 1:8 to 1:10 (e.g. 50g of coffee per 500ml of water), though you can use a stronger 1:5 ratio if you prefer a more concentrated brew.

Once ready, strain the concentrate through a paper filter, fine mesh sieve, or a reusable filter into a glass bottle or jar. The finished cold brew can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days — though it tastes best within the first 3.

  • What coffee should you use for cold brew?

Cold brew rewards quality. Since there is no heat to mask imperfections, the character of the beans comes through fully — so it's worth investing in good ones. We also recommend using bottled or filtered water, as tap water is not ideal for cold steeping.

Look for 100% Arabica specialty beans — you'll find a wide selection in our store.

  • Our cold brew recommendations

Light to medium roast coffees work particularly well for cold brew. Enthusiasts of this drink tend to gravitate towards beans with an intense fruity aroma — and African origins are an especially popular choice. Our roastery offers coffees from Kenya, Burundi, and Congo that shine in cold brew. Beans from Mexico and El Salvador are also an excellent option.

  • Jak serwować taki napój?

The finished cold brew concentrate can be stored in the fridge for up to several days — so the longer preparation time is well worth it. Cold brew is best served over ice, and if you'd like to dilute it, simply add water or milk. Here are some serving ideas:

    • With water and ice — add a slice of orange or lemon and a fresh mint leaf for a refreshing twist
    • With milk — serve over ice for a smooth, creamy drink; add ice cream or whipped cream for an indulgent treat
    • As a cocktail base — cold brew concentrate pairs beautifully with rum or coffee liqueurs for an elegant evening drink.
