Collection: Matcha Accessories

Good matcha starts before the first sip — with the right tools. A chasen, a bowl, a strainer: each one has a real effect on texture, foam, and flavour in the cup. From your first chasen to bowls that stay with you for years.

  • Matcha accessories — where to start

Three things are enough to prepare matcha properly: powder, water, and something to whisk with. In practice that means a chasen, a bowl, and optionally a strainer. This is the minimum that allows you to prepare matcha the traditional way — smooth, with a fine, creamy foam on top. Everything beyond that is a matter of comfort and personal preference.

  • Chasen — the whisk that makes the difference

A chasen is a bamboo matcha whisk, hand-crafted from a single piece of bamboo. Its job is straightforward: combine powder and water without lumps, and produce a fine, dense foam on the surface. Matcha whisked with a chasen has a completely different texture from matcha stirred with a spoon or frothed with an electric frother — smoother, creamier, and more evenly aerated.

Our range includes chasen in light and dark bamboo, as well as the Chasen Long — with an extended handle, more comfortable when working with a tall glass or mug. After each use, rinse the chasen under warm water and rest it on a holder — the tines will keep their shape and the whisk will last significantly longer.

  • Matchawan — the bowl that matters

A matchawan is the traditional bowl for preparing and drinking matcha. The wider base and gently flared rim are not just aesthetic choices — the shape allows the chasen to move freely and produces better foam. Our range includes ceramic bowls in several distinct characters: Matchawan Gyoku in deep green, Matchawan Botan in pink ceramic with a pouring spout, Matchawan Taro in an irregular form, and Matchawan Sumomo — each hand-made, each with its own character.

  • Matcha strainer — small detail, real difference

Matcha powder clumps easily, especially when stored in a humid environment. Sifting through a fine strainer before adding water takes a few seconds — the effect is immediate: the powder dissolves evenly, the foam is more uniform, the flavour cleaner. One of those accessories that makes a difference every day.

  • Glass bowl with spout

A modern alternative to the traditional matchawan — made from borosilicate glass, with a practical spout for easy pouring. It lets you observe the colour and consistency of the matcha as you prepare it. Dishwasher safe, which makes daily ritual that much easier.
