Great coffee starts in your kitchen
Our group Home Barista training is a practical course for anyone who wants to brew better coffee at home, understand flavour and use everyday coffee equipment with confidence. Under the guidance of a JAVA Coffee Roasters trainer, you will learn the essential theory, discover how to control the key brewing variables and find out how to bring out the best in every coffee. Moka pot, French Press, Clever Dripper or AeroPress? During the course, you will learn how to brew with each method correctly. You will also discover how to froth milk at home and prepare café-style milk-based classics – perhaps even better than the ones from your local coffee shop.

What will you learn?
You will follow coffee’s journey from fruit to cup and discover what shapes its quality, aroma and flavour. You will learn how to adjust a brewing recipe and understand why your coffee may taste too acidic, bitter, watery or lacking in character.
After the course, you will know:
- how the main coffee species and quality segments differ,
- where coffee’s complex flavours and wide range of aromas come from,
- how processing methods affect the sensory profile of the beans,
- how water quality and temperature influence the final cup,
- how to choose the right grind size, coffee-to-water ratio and brewing time,
- how to brew coffee correctly using popular home-brewing equipment,
- how to froth milk without a professional espresso machine.
