More control, precision and confidence behind the bar
Barista Advanced Individual Training is an advanced two-day barista course delivered in a one-to-one format. It is designed for baristas and coffee professionals who already have foundational experience and want to develop their skills in espresso preparation, milk steaming, latte art and sensory evaluation.
Under the guidance of a JAVA University trainer, you will learn how to adjust extraction variables with purpose, develop espresso recipes for different coffees and assess the flavour of each shot more accurately. Extensive hands-on practice and an individual learning pace allow you to focus on your technique and the areas that require further development.

What will you learn?
You will develop your sensory skills, learn how to dial in the grinder more precisely and explore how temperature, brew ratio and other variables influence espresso extraction. You will also learn how to use %TDS and %EXT measurements to evaluate extraction and create consistent, repeatable recipes.
During the milk-focused section, you will refine your microfoam technique and practise more advanced latte art patterns. You will also learn how to achieve the correct proportions, temperature and texture in the most popular milk-based coffee drinks.
