A few years ago, no one would have believed that instead of a gin cocktail, someone would order an espresso martini… without the martini. That instead of evening prosecco, a group of friends would meet at 9:00 AM for a flat white during a DJ set. And yet – the coffee party is a trend currently making waves. And not just in Berlin, Toronto, or Dubai, but also in Poland: the first alcohol-free coffee events have already taken place at Resort Cafe Bar in Warsaw, and at Leniu and Nurt in Gdańsk.
A New Party Culture: Less Alcohol, More Presence
More and more people are choosing mindful pleasures that don’t end in a hangover and regret. Instead of alcohol: great espresso. Instead of a smoky club: a bright café with a selection of Ethiopian beans. And instead of blackouts: presence.
It’s not just about what we drink anymore, but also why and with whom. A coffee party isn’t just a substitute for a booze-fueled night – it’s a whole new format: a gathering of people connected by taste, vibe, music, and coffee.
This trend is also tied to the sober curious movement – a growing group of people who aren’t necessarily giving up alcohol forever, but want to break the “drinks are required” routine. Instead: exploring new ways of being together, new flavors, and new experiences. And that’s where specialty coffee comes in.
Why Specialty Coffee Fits Parties
Because coffee has everything we love about parties: intensity, ritual, the “WOW” effect. And when it’s from the specialty segment, it surprises even more – it has character, depth, and a story.
The barista becomes the new bartender. On the bar you’ll find not just cappuccino or latte, but shots, alternative brews, cold brew from a drip, or espresso tonic. In this party vibe, coffee isn’t a side act – it’s the centerpiece. It fuels conversation, gives energy, and – importantly – doesn’t wipe you out the next day.
Plant-Based Foam? Meet Sproud
With coffee comes a shift in thinking about what we serve it with. Plant-based milk alternatives stopped being niche a long time ago. And now in the coffee world, Sproud – a pea-based beverage made with baristas in mind – is making waves.
Sproud is creamy, neutral in taste, creates stable foam, and doesn’t overpower the flavor profile of the beans. It works with espresso, drip, AeroPress. For many, it’s a discovery: coffee that tastes great, and is also lighter, more sustainable, and environmentally friendly.
The Trend Is Growing, Just Like Quality
Globally, coffee parties are no longer a curiosity, but a legit way to party: Fred’s Coffee Party in Dubai, raves in Toronto and New York, morning events in Berlin. In Poland, the trend is just picking up, but it’s clear this isn’t a short-lived hype. It’s about quality. Gatherings that stay in your memory – not in your liver.
And that’s exactly why it’s worth being where the trend is just beginning to build momentum.
