The Farm and Cultivation Process
The Maracanã farm is located near plantations owned by the producer of our coffee, Ocafi, in the São José do Rio Pardo, Mococa region, which is famous for producing high-quality specialty coffees. The estate has been in the Junqueira family for generations, dating back to 1872, and has a long history of being managed by women. The current owner, Marina, along with her husband Lincoln, has been involved in the coffee sector since 2015 and has been focused on continuous and dynamic development from the very beginning. A significant percentage of their employees are women.

Maracanã is regularly modernized to ensure a steady improvement in the quality of its coffee production. Recently, an innovative irrigation system was implemented on the farm to control soil moisture levels. As a result, the harvests are more consistent, and the farm's water consumption has been significantly reduced. Maracanã operates with a sustainable development approach, placing great emphasis on using only natural fertilizers and renewable energy sources.
Marina and Lincoln ensure fair working conditions for their permanent employees, and during the harvest season, they employ an additional 80 seasonal workers. They are also actively involved in the local community, organizing various educational initiatives that enable even the most underprivileged to attend school and pursue higher education.
