The Kalita Wave filters are made out of the highest grade filter paper around and the design allows the filter to be slightly suspended above the bottom of the Kalita Wave coffee dripper.
This helps funnel water contact away from the outer wall of the dripper. Careful with your rinsing and pouring. The wave shape must be maintained with a gentle directional pour or the filter sides will collapse and you lose the Wave advantage.
