Sproud Latte Art Challenge: Creative Art in a Cup

Can coffee be not only a source of pleasure for the palate but also for the eyes? We decided to prove that it can! Latte Art is the art of creating simple patterns or even quite complex illustrations on the surface of coffee (specifically on the delicate creamy layer covering the espresso, known as “crema”), using both the manual skills of the barista and properly prepared milk. But is it only milk? In the era of increasing awareness and concern for the environment, cow's milk is often replaced by alternative plant-based drinks. Can we create art on coffee using alternative products as well? Absolutely!

To show that limiting dairy in your diet doesn’t mean you have to give up the pleasure of creating “milky art” or enjoying beautifully decorated coffee, we decided to have some fun!

Get ready for the delicious and exciting Sproud Latte Art Challenge, organized together with Sproud, our favorite brand of plant-based drinks made from yellow pea protein (HERE you can learn more about Sproud and check out their full product range).

This will be an amazing opportunity to meet coffee enthusiasts and professional baristas, as well as to test your skills in this tasty and eye-pleasing art known as Latte Art. This time, it’s a completely vegan edition! The event will take place at the iconic Trzecia Kawa café in Poznań.

What is the Sproud Latte Art Challenge About?

The goal of our competition is not only to showcase the skills of coffee lovers in creating latte art but also to promote a plant-based diet and encourage innovation in kitchens and cafés by embracing the new offerings of today’s healthy food and Specialty Coffee markets.

What Will the Sproud Latte Art Challenge Look Like?

The Sproud Latte Art Challenge will take place on April 5, 2024, at "Trzecia Kawa" café in Poznań. Participation in the competition is limited to 20 people, so we recommend registering as soon as possible.

To help with training before the competition, each participant will receive a pack of Sproud Barista to get familiar with the product that will be used in the contest.

The competition will consist of two rounds:

1. Pattern Drawing and Execution: Participants will draw patterns they will need to recreate in their cups in the form of latte art. In this round, the execution and final appearance of the presented cup will be evaluated.
2. Original Pattern + Storytelling: In this stage, participants must present their own latte art design and tell the story behind it. Both execution and creativity of the presentation will be evaluated in this round.

Prizes and Participation Requirements

Participation requirements are simple - to enter the competition, you must be at least 18 years old and register through this form.
