OROMATCHA 02 NŌBURU – premium matcha from the first harvest
Some matcha is made for special occasions. Some is made to be enjoyed every day. OROMATCHA NŌBURU sits perfectly in between – a premium matcha from the first harvest that works beautifully both in traditional preparation and in modern matcha drinks.
This matcha comes from Kagoshima prefecture on the island of Kyushu, one of Japan’s most respected tea-growing regions. Nōburu is a carefully crafted blend of two cultivars – okumidori and saemidori – created to achieve balance, smooth texture and a naturally sweet finish.
What does this matcha taste like?
The flavour profile is smooth and well-balanced, with clear umami and a gentle sweetness. You may notice notes of dark chocolate, light nuttiness and a soft, slightly sweet finish. The texture is creamy and round, without the aggressive bitterness typical of lower-quality matcha.
This is a matcha that works both on water and with milk – which makes it one of the most versatile matcha in the OROMATCHA range.
Why is this matcha special?
- first harvest (first flush) – made from the most valued spring leaves
- blend of okumidori and saemidori cultivars – carefully composed for balance and consistency
- smooth, naturally sweet flavour profile
- high umami, low bitterness
- JAS Organic certified
- perfect both for traditional matcha and matcha latte
Where does Nōburu come from?
The tea is grown in Kagoshima, on the volcanic island of Kyushu. Mineral-rich soil, clean air and ideal climate conditions make this region one of the most important matcha-producing areas in Japan. Just like in coffee or wine, origin has a huge impact on flavour – and Kagoshima is known for producing smooth, naturally sweet matcha with balanced umami.
