Caturra and Catuai beans are washed and carefully roasted by our roasters to give them a mega-fruity energy and plenty of sweetness! In the profile you'll find juicy cherries paired with red apple, complemented by the sweetness of cane sugar and an aftertaste of walnut. Espresso like this. Our Summer Espresso range is made from beans grown in the exceptional Los Santos region in the heart of Costa Rica, next to the majestic Tarrazu mountains at an altitude of 1,200 to 1,800 metres. From here come some of the finest and most prized coffee beans in Costa Rica, classified as Strictly Hard Bean.

The rich volcanic soil, the high altitude and the ideal combination of sunlight, temperature and rainfall provide the optimum amount of minerals to produce an exceptional coffee.

The 'washed' (wet) method is one of the most popular coffee processing methods. It involves the thorough removal of the pulp from the coffee fruit to produce pure beans. The process begins by placing the harvested fruit in a special machine that mechanically removes the pulp. The beans are then placed in fermentation tanks where the remaining pulp and other undesirable elements are washed away in the presence of water. During fermentation, enzymes naturally present in the fruit break down the remaining pulp, making it easier to remove during rinsing. Once fermentation is complete, the grains are thoroughly rinsed. The grains are then dried in the sun or in special dryers until the right moisture level is reached.
