Wiwitz doesn't need any tricks to taste good. Read on to discover what gives this coffee its clean, sweet and fruity character.

The flavor of Guatemala Wiwitz begins with a ripe cherry

Guatemala Wiwitz comes from Huehuetenango, one of Guatemala’s most renowned coffee-growing regions. Here, coffee grows at 1,500–1,800 metres above sea level, surrounded by mountainous terrain and a cooler climate. These conditions allow the cherries to ripen slowly, giving them more time to develop their natural sweetness and complexity. Significant temperature shifts between day and night further contribute to the clean, distinctive cup profile that high-grown coffees from this part of Guatemala are known for.

Lucas Rodríguez Salucio, coffee producer

Behind this coffee are Lucas Rodríguez Salucio and Wiwitz Farm, where Caturra and Catuai varieties are grown – both firmly rooted in Guatemala’s coffee tradition. Ripe cherries are picked by hand before undergoing a classic washed process: depulping, fermentation, thorough washing and drying. This approach preserves the coffee’s clean character and allows the qualities of its origin and varieties to shine through, without being overshadowed by intense fermentation flavours.

Wiwitz has a clean, balanced and beautifully structured profile. Chocolate comes through first, bringing sweetness and a smooth, rounded base. As the coffee cools, ripe, juicy plum becomes more pronounced, followed by blackcurrant, which adds a fresh touch of acidity and keeps the cup lively and light. The finish is tea-like, clean and gently dry, lingering pleasantly without becoming overpowering.

The result? Plenty of sweetness, bright fruit notes and well-balanced acidity. It’s an easy profile to enjoy, yet layered enough to keep every sip interesting.
