Collection: Decaffeinated coffee

A natural ingredient in coffee is caffeine, which gives one an energy boost. Despite its beneficial effects, this substance can cause numerous undesirable effects in people who are particularly sensitive to it. The ideal solution in such cases is decaffeinated coffee, i.e. decaf.

At JAVA we offer a delicious Colombian decaffeinated coffee both in light and dark roast.

  • Decaffeinated coffee – what does it mean?

Decaffeinated coffee is coffee that has been decaffeinated. The decaffeination process takes place at the initial stage of bean separation and can be carried out in a number of ways - naturally or using chemical substances that greatly facilitate the process. However, their use has an impact on the quality of the beans. At JAVA Coffee you will only find coffee that has been decaffeinated in a completely natural way, without the use of chemicals, using only the highest quality beans.

It is important to note that decaffeinated coffee is never completely caffeine-free - European standards allow a caffeine content of 0.1 to 0.3% relative to the original amount.

  • Decaf Colombia Cauca – What is Our Decaf Coffee Like?

Our decaffeinated coffee is made from the finest Arabica beans from the Cauca region of Colombia, grown at an altitude of 1600-1820 metres above sea level. In the first stage of processing, they undergo a natural decaffeination process - Sugarcane E.A. Decaffeination - without the use of chemicals. The coffee is freshly roasted according to a recipe created by the 2018 Polish Roasting Champion - Rafał Kaniewski. It is available in two roasting profiles: espresso and filter. The flavour notes you can taste in our decaf are jasmine, pomegranate and strawberry, creating an interesting and balanced composition.

  • How Does Decaf Differ from Regular Coffee?

Good quality decaffeinated coffee does not taste very different from regular coffee. The preserved aromas allow you to enjoy it at your leisure and get full satisfaction from the brew. Decaffeinated coffee lacks stimulant and digestive properties, but contains higher levels of niacin, potassium, magnesium and is an excellent source of antioxidants.

  • Decaffeinated coffee as an alternative

Decaf is the ideal solution for coffee lovers who, for various reasons, need to eliminate caffeine from their diet. It is also recommended for those who consume large amounts of this beverage. The safe amount of caffeine that the body can absorb is 400mg per day, equivalent to two cups of coffee, which may not be enough for coffee lovers. Decaffeinated coffee is also recommended for people who suffer from insomnia or chronic headaches. It is also a suitable substitute for pregnant and breastfeeding women. Although it is best to avoid coffee altogether during this time, decaffeinated coffee is an option that allows you to enjoy your favourite taste from time to time.
