A natural ingredient in coffee is caffeine, which gives one an energy boost. Despite its beneficial effects, this substance can cause numerous undesirable effects in people who are particularly sensitive to it. The ideal solution in such cases is decaffeinated coffee, i.e. decaf.
At JAVA we offer a delicious Colombian decaffeinated coffee both in light and dark roast.
Decaf - what does that mean?
Decaf is a coffee that is decaffeinated. Decaffeination occurs using various chemical methods or in a natural and ecological way. The entire process is carried out at the initial stage of grain segregation i.e. before roasting. European standards allow its content at the level of 0.1 to 0.3% in relation to the initial amount. JAVA’s decaf coffee has undergone a natural decaffeination process - Sugarcane E.A. Decaffeination Process - without the use of chemicals.

Decaf Colombia Cauca - about JAVA’s decaffeinated coffee?
JAVA’s decaf is made of the best Arabica beans from the Colombian Cauca region, ripening at an altitude of 1600-1820 m above sea level. At the initial stage of processing, they are subjected to a natural decaffeination process - Sugarcane E.A. Decaffeination, which proceeds without the use of chemicals. JAVA roasts this decaf coffee on an ongoing basis, precisely following the recipe created by the 2018 Polish Roasters Champion - Rafał Kaniewski. It is available in two roast profiles: espresso and filter. Taste notes that can be felt in Nashem Decafe are jasmine, pomegranate and strawberry, which are an interesting and balanced composition.
How much is decaf different from regular coffee?
The highest quality decaffeinated coffee does not differ much in taste from ordinary coffee. Preserved aromas allow you to savour it calmly and derive full satisfaction from tasting the infusion. Decaffeinated coffee is devoid of stimulating and digestive properties, and instead contains higher amounts of niacin, potassium, magnesium and is a great source of antioxidants.
Decaf as an alternative to classic coffee.
Decaf is the perfect solution for coffee lovers who, for various reasons, are forced to eliminate caffeine from their diet. It is also recommended for people who consume large amounts of this drink. The dose of caffeine that the body can safely absorb is 400 mg per day, i.e. two cups of coffee, which may not be enough for coffee lovers. Decaffeinated coffee is also recommended for people suffering from problems with falling asleep or chronic headaches. It is also a proper replacement for pregnant and lactating women. Despite the fact that it is best to give up coffee completely during this period, it is an option that allows you to remind yourself of your favourite taste from time to time.
