Rwanda Gicumbi [FALL ESPRESSO]

Autumn has arrived, and with it, it's time for changes in our coffee offering - welcome FALL Espresso. RWANDA Gicumbi, produced by Nova Coffee, is an Arabica Red Bourbon variety sourced from small-scale farmers in the Gicumbi region in the north of the country. The beans are washed, ensuring that the espresso you brew will have a clean taste and a light body.

You'll notice aromas of Assam tea, juicy cherries reminiscent of summer, as well as autumnal notes of dried fruits and the sweetness of honeydew.

About the Producer:

Nova Coffee is located at an altitude of 1,482 m in the Gicumbi district in northern Rwanda. The farm was established in 2005 as a small washing station serving this cooperative. Initially part of the COOGIPROCA cooperative, after its bankruptcy in 2013, Nova purchased the business, carried out extensive renovations to meet its needs, and then expanded its coffee processing operations significantly.

The high altitudes and mineral-rich volcanic soils in the area create ideal conditions for coffee cultivation, enabling the production of high-quality beans.

Nova Coffee is a business where women play a significant role. At its helm is Agnes Mukamushinja, who owns and manages the farm with her husband, Felix Hitayezu. In addition to improving the quality of the coffee produced, the couple focuses on building ethical and sustainable coffee farming practices within their community.

Thanks to Nova Coffee's operations, 2,880 small coffee producers, including almost 400 women, have secured jobs and livelihoods. The owners ensure the best living conditions not only for their employees but also for their families.
